Eligibility
Families or individuals who would like to become a foster parent must meet the following criteria to qualify: - Must be at least 21 years of age - U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization, or be able to provide immigration status - No criminal or child abuse/neglect record - Financially Stable - Proof of Income - Good physical, mental and emotional health - Home must be a safe environment for children - Available space to accommodate children - Successfully complete all training requirements (if married or cohabiting, both must attend all required trainings) - Participate in the home assessment process to become a licensed foster home - Foster parents can be single, cohabiting or married - Foster parents can own their own homes, or rent an apartment
