Lutheran Social Services of Illinois' Visits to Mom program provides free transportation for children whose mothers are incarcerated and live too far away to visit. Bus trips to Decatur Correctional Center are scheduled three to four times a year, typically serving children from Chicago's South and West Sides and their caregivers. The program also hosts an annual Christmas party for these families.
