WIC Application Assistance

Sinai Community Institute - Cicero helps households complete applications for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supplemental nutrition assistance program. The WIC program provides healthy eating classes, breastfeeding support, and food vouchers to eligible pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5. In order to be eligible for this program, households must meet income guidelines and also be at nutritional risk as determined by a health professional. Nutritional risk recognizes medically-based risks such as anemia and diet-based risks including poor nutrition.

Application process

Appointment Required;-- Household gross income can not exceed 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) per month. Households receiving other Federal Benefits programs may be automatically eligible. Eligibility determinations are typically same-day. If determined eligible, WIC benefits are issued immediately.
