Mobile Young Adult Guardianship Project - Center for Disability and Elder Law - Main Location

Applicants must live in Chicago or Suburban Cook County, Illinois.Applicants must be at least 60 or live with a permanent disability.CDEL generally prioritizes applicants with limited assets and a total gross household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The applicant's legal issue must be one of the case types they handle. They must not have an ethical conflict of interest regarding your legal issue to assist.

Description

The Young Adult Guardianship project is designed for families with children who live with a permanent disability who are transitioning to adulthood upon their 18th birthdays. CDEL representatives go into the community to assist families with completing the necessary paperwork to file for guardianship of the person. CDEL representatives also fully represent eligible clients in the guardianship process.
