CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER | KANE COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER

Provides a safe, child-focused environment for child victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse, ensuring thorough and sensitive investigations and prosecutions. The goal of this program is to investigate and assist the State's Attorney's Office in the prosecution of offenders without causing further harm to the child victim. Child Advocacy teams include a prosecutor, investigator, DCFS child protection investigator, social sorkers, and a victim advocate. Teams collaborate on each case to minimise the stress on the child and the child's family and to ensure that effective medical treatment and counseling are availabel to each child who experiences abuse. The Center conducts child sensitive interviews for child sexual assault/abuse survivors and severe physical child abuse survivors. They will perform physical exams of children and support both the victim and connected family members. Information and referrals are also provided.
