Permanent Supportive Housing is an intervention that combines affordable housing assistance with voluntary support services to address the needs of chronically homeless people. The mission of Interfaith Housing Development Corporation (IHDC) is to promote and develop long-term affordable housing for low-income, underserved populations in collaboration with local communities. In total, IHDC has generated 952 affordable rental units throughout the metropolitan Chicago area, most of which target special needs populations.
