GRANT PER DIEM BRIDGE TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM (GPD) FOR VETERANS | SALVATION ARMY OF BLOOMINGTON
Temporary housing for veterans for up to 90 days while they find and secure permanent housing. Currently can house 11 male veterans in Lincoln and 9 male or female veterans in Bloomington. Limited accommodations possible for families. While in the GPD program, Veterans will receive several services: - Housing intervention. - Case management. - Life skills training. - Access to either prepared meals or food pantry items. - Transportation. - Assistance with applying for VA and Social Security Benefits.

Eligibility
- Must have served on active duty or been activated by presidential order if a reservist. - Prior to entry into the GPD program, veterans must accept a housing intervention such as: SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families); HUD-VASH; subsidized housing; or a social worker representing the veteran in negotiating with landlords on their behalf. - Veterans are only allowed 3 GPD stays in a lifetime. - Neither site is able to house sex offenders. - Ineligible if discharged due to General Court Martial. - Ineligible if discharged dishonorably.
