General Relief | ZION TOWNSHIP - General Assistance

Provides monthly financial assistance up to $350 to help Township residents in need. Assists with rent/mortgage, utilities, or medical expenses. Provides temporary aide while individual finds a job or waits for benefits approval. Township boundaries do not follow municipal or zip code boundaries. Verify the Township residency of clients prior to contacting the Township for services. Eligibility

- Must be a Zion Township resident over the age of 18 and meet income eligibility guidelines - Must not receive or qualify for cash assistance from any other governmental agency (i.e. SSI, Veteran's Assistance, TANF) - Must be actively seeking employment Additional Eligibility Conditions: -Individuals who left job without due cause or were terminated for misconduct, must wait 30 days after termination to apply -Individuals who are not a United States citizen must be a permanent resident by law and have resided in this country for five years
