Description
Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity helps income-challenged homeowners with repairs and home maintenance through the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI). Participating affiliates perform a limited range of housing interventions based on the particular needs of the qualified property. Homeowners will agree to pay for the repairs through a deferred, zero-interest loan.

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.This agency also refers eligible clients needing home furniture to the Chicago Furniture Bank (CFB), which does not accept walk-ins or calls for furniture requests. Individuals requesting furniture may contact Habitat For Humanity staff to discuss further. Habitat For Humanity staff will work to assess the client's needs and schedule an appointment on their behalf.
