Birth certificates may only be released to a parent listed on the birth certificate or a legal guardian who is able to present court documentation as proof of their guardian status; Death certificates may only be released to relatives of the deceased or a non-relative who can prove a financial or property interest in the deceased, such as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy
Photo ID (preferably a driver's license), Birth Certificates for a Child, Photo ID (preferably a driver's license) or court papers verifying status as the child's legal guardian Death Certificates: Photo ID (preferably a driver's license) or documents verifying there is a legal need for the certificate (such as being the executor of the estate of the deceased)
