HOUSING | ILLINOIS HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
Finances the creation and preservation of affordable housing throughout the state to increase the supply of decent and safe places for people of low or moderate means to live. Services include: - First-time home buyer information; home purchase and loan assistance. - SmartBuy program - will pay up to $40,000 in student loans, or a loan up to $5,000 to be used for down payment or closing costs. - Listing of apartment developments financed by IHDA. - Foreclosure Prevention Network provides free phone counseling to homeowners experiencing difficulty making mortgage payments. - Housing Counseling: Financial literacy and pre-purchase counseling.
