Lawndale AMACHI Mentoring Program (Chicago LAMP) provides a one-to-one mentoring program that requires the mentor and mentee to meet for at least 1 hour each week. During this time, the mentor assists the mentee with academic, personal, social, and family-related challenges the youth may be facing. Mentors also engage mentees in new and fun activities as time and circumstances permit. The drop-out prevention program aims to foster cooperative relationships, manage the youth's emotions responsibly, and resolve disputes nonviolently.
