Key eligibility criteria: - Assistance is available for homes anywhere in Lake County and Cook County - The rehabilitation must result in a sustainable and habitable living environment - Homeowners must use the home as their principal residence - Homeowners must be current on property taxes - Homeowners must have homeowner’s insurance - Homeowners must meet relevant underwriting criteria Annual GROSS household income (i.e. the combined pre-tax income from all sources for all members of the household) cannot exceed the below 150% Area Median Income. Homeowners must also use the home as their principal residence, be current on property taxes, and have homeowner’s insurance. For the accessibility program, at least one member of the household must be 62 years old or older or have a disability which substantially limits one or more major life activities.

Provides grants up to $60,000 to assist low-to moderate income households to complete critical home repairs, including: - Roofing - Windows & doors - Heating & cooling - Electrical - Plumbing - Lead Based Paint, mold and asbestos remediation - Kitchens - Bathrooms - Flooring - Foundation and structural repairs - Wheelchair ramps - Widening doorways - Accessible kitchens and bathrooms Also provides loans of up to $25,000 for repairs, accessibility improvements and other home improvements.
