Application process

Individuals must call to schedule an intake appointment, during which they will complete a short application along with other paperwork. All young adults are welcome to apply; preference is given to graduates of the center's school-age program.

Center for Independence provides graduates of the school-age program with the opportunity to continue to build upon motor skills, strength, endurance, and self-determination. The focus is on socialization skills, activities of daily life, community integration, and vocational training to guide participants towards independent living and employment.The therapeutic team works with participants to maximize independence through positive risk-taking and strengthening a belief in their ability.

The Center for Independence offers motor training services to individuals with cerebral palsy and other conditions that limit mobility. Other programs include parenting classes, social work services, and vocational training. Programs are led by physical therapists, occupational therapists, and Conductive Education teachers.
