Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council (BYNC) employs hundreds of Back of the Yards youth between the ages of 16-24 through the Chicago Youth Works Employment Program. Summer programming for neighborhood youth provides them with a fun, healthy and safe environment where they gain paid work experience, career education and learn job readiness skills. They also offer a stipend-based enrichment program for 20 youth aged 14 and 15. This enrichment program focuses on creative outlets, leadership building skills, social emotional learning through arts and culture, and more.

The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council (BYNC) was created in response to these growing social issues and continues today to organize residents and bring social services and economic resources to the community.
