Gas Service Payment Assistance | THE SALVATION ARMY OF WAUKEGAN - NICOR Gas Sharing Program

Provides one-time annual grants, with no requirement to be paid back, to qualified Nicor residential customers who meet the required income guidelines. Eligible customers can receive a Sharing Grant up to $500 based on the overall account balance on the account. Offers application assistance to eligible families, disable households, veterans and those in crisis assistance to sign up for Nicor residential heating customers.

Call for an appointment or go online to the Salvation Army Referral Desk and fill out the online form at https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/northcentralillinois/referral-desk/ Documents Required: - Proof of income for everyone in the household for the past 30 days - ID - Current NICOR gas bill.

Eligibility

To qualify, the total households income must fall between 150 and 250 percent of the poverty level, as defined by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. Applicants must also be ineligible for State or Federal energy assistance programs (CEDA or LIHEAP). Must be Lake County resident* *Must be Waukegan, North Chicago, Park City, Beach Park, Gurnee, or Zion NOTE: Eligibility is based on gross monthly income for all household members combined. Please call to verify if monthly income and family size qualifies.
