Emergency Assistance
City of Evanston offers Emergency Assistance, administered through the General Assistance Program and available to all City of Evanston residents who meet income and asset guidelines as established by the General Assistance Office. Emergency Assistance can only be issued once in a 12-month period and must meet the definition of an "Emergency" or "Life-Threatening" situation (evictions, utility disconnections, or food).

* Restricted to 18+ * Restricted to Evanston residents * Must be ineligible for General Assistance * Household gross income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level for utility, rent, or food assistance * Household gross income must be at or below HUD 80% median income for mortgage and condominium assistance fees * Must have documented emergency *
