Maintains plans and trains community partners regarding the 24/7 response to a public health emergency. Public health emergencies can consist of a bio-terrorist attack, pandemic influenza or any emerging infectious disease that threatens McLean County. Staff are available to provide presentations to community groups or businesses. The emergency preparedness program coordinates the McLean County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps which is a volunteer organization consisting of McLean County residents, 18 or older, who are trained to support public health emergencies.

Also, offers MRC a collaborative venture of the Health Department and the McLean County Emergency Management Agency to recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers to assist the existing public health infrastructure during a public health emergency or disaster to strengthen and support emergency response efforts in McLean County.
