Offers various programs to help seniors save money on their property taxes. Programs include the following: Senior Homestead Exemption Lowers the equalized assessed value of the property by $8,000. Low-Income Senior Citizen's Assessment Freeze Provides protection against real estate tax increases for seniors with limited income. It is not a tax freeze or a tax reduction and does not protect against increased taxes due to tax rate increases. Applications are due by July 31 of each year. Senior Citizen Deferral Program Allows senior citizens to defer part or all the property taxes on their residence.
