Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident; Cannot belong to an HMO or PPO or have eye care benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); Must be at least 18 years of age; Has not seen an ophthalmologist in 3 or more years; Has not seen an EyeCare America volunteer opthalmologist in the past.
Passport, Green Card, or Naturalization Certificate Additional documentation may be required.

(1) Answer a few questions on the website about yourself or for someone else to confirm eligibility. (2) If you are matched with a volunteer doctor near you, you will get an email with the doctor’s office phone number so you can call to make an appointment. (3) A medical eye exam will be done during the appointment.
