Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) Comprehensive Community-Based Youth Services (CCBYS) aims to divert youth from the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. The program provides 24-hour crisis response for runaway and "locked out" youth ages 11-17. Community-based counseling helps address home and community issues that lead to crises. In addition to crisis services, staff collaborate with local schools and community agencies to optimize resources for at-risk youth.
