Mental Health Drop-in Center

The Drop-In Center program, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health, supports Colbert Class Members in setting recovery goals and taking ownership of their own recovery. Using a community-based approach that promotes empowerment, personal growth and responsibility, these services assist program participants achieve greater independence. The PWC Drop-In Center is located in Washington Park, a neighborhood with few mental health resources, for area consumers. Daily activities planned and offered at the Drop-In Center include community outings such as dinners, movies, plays, and cultural excursions; socialization activities such as game nights, as well as skills development workshops such as healthy cooking, money management, and computer classes.
