Parenting skills classes

Sankofa Safe Child Initiative - Southside Office offers parenting classes for first-time parents and/or parents who are encountering difficulties at home. Some topics covered include personal reflections, health, and wellness, child growth and development, literacy, rights when it comes to daycare and schools including how individuals can do a site visit, what questions should be asked, as well as communicating with teachers and principals.

Appointment Preferred; Walk-ins Accepted-- Sankofa Safe Child Initiative - Southside Office services are free for individuals referred by an entity of the state or court services. Individuals not referred by these entities will be charged on a sliding scale based on income. Parenting classes are available for those under 18 years of age if referred by the courts or a state entity.
