PUBLIC LIBRARY | BLOOMINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Adult Services Department provides a wide range of services, materials, and programs to fill the informational and recreational needs of adults and young adults. The library maintains computer access, books, paperbacks, periodicals, newspapers, indexes, electronic databases, music, audio books, videocassettes, DVDs, and more. There are special collections in the areas of memory care, law, business, career development, automotive repair, local history, Spanish language, computer help, etc. Programs and tours are available for individuals, classes, and groups. Librarians can provide knowledgeable help in connecting patrons to needed information in person, by telephone, by fax, by postal mail, by text, and by e-mail. When information is not immediately available, staff refers customers to agencies and other libraries for a direct response or requests material through interlibrary loan. The Children's Room hosts numerous programs, ranging from movies to zoo animal visits, throughout the year. The Children's Room is full of wonderful books and other materials. There are computers designed especially for a child's use. Librarians entertain with stories, finger plays, and songs during story hours in the library or at Eastland Mall.
