Emergency Behavioral Healthcare Center

Grand Prairie Services (GPS) Emergency Behavioral Healthcare Center (EBHC) responds to adults experiencing a crisis through a variety of services, including short-term therapy, telephone support, and 24-hour crisis residential services. The crisis program has a capacity of 10 beds. EBHC services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crisis counselors and therapists respond to each call, offering emotional support, face-to-face counseling, crisis assessments, and/or referrals. Individuals admitted to EBHC receive a Mental Health Assessment, individual and group counseling, and therapy and care management. Clients work with a therapist in developing an individualized treatment plan focusing specifically on the goals they wish to address. Once discharged, the individual is linked with appropriate community-based services and can continue to work toward their recovery from mental illness.
