Justice Advisory Council (JAC)-South Lawndale - Sinai Chicago - Sinai Community Institute - Ogden

Sinai Community Institute's Justice Advisory Council (JAC) offers hospital-based outreach, case management, and victim services to South Lawndale residents at high risk of victimization from firearm injury. A combination of caregivers meets weekly to connect individuals and families to free and local resources provided at Sinai Community Institute (SCI), Sinai Behavioral Health (SBH), Mount Sinai Hospital, New Life Centers (NLC), and other community-based partners. Mental health supports are provided internally by SBH's adult outpatient clinic, Under The Rainbow (UTR), while their partnership with NLC allows program-eligible residents to access culturally-relevant violence interruption support in the community to minimize the risk of retaliatory violence. SUHI Community Health Workers collaborate directly with community partners and therapists to expand access to health supports both in and outside of SHS. Services include, but are not limited to, Boulder (insurance), housing, Wound Care, WIC, Adult Protective Services, SCI Navigators, parenting classes, emergency support funds, legal services, employment resources, and domestic violence resources at Schwab.
