JUF Uptown Cafe

A Multi-Service Center serves dinner to the hungry on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights and Sunday brunch. Staffed by volunteer waitpersons, the Cafe provides a dignified setting for nutritious food, connections to the community, and access to EZRA services.

Application process

Clients come to EZRA through a weekly screening (Monday 1:30p-3:30p and Tuesday 9:30a-11:30a), and if they express a need a for food, they are referred to the Cafe. They review all eligible clients weekly, and those who are accepted meet with a case manager for an intake. You are not required to bring any documents to the open screening. When reviewing eligibility for the Uptown Cafe, factors such as access to healthy foods and social supports are considered. Please contact the intake line at 773-467-3847 to be screened over the phone if you are unable to come in for walk-in hours.
