Housing For Seniors - Oak Park Housing Authority

The Oak Park Housing Authority (OPHA) and the Oak Park Residence Corporation (OPRC) effectively collaborate in operating rental housing that is specifically designed to serve Oak Park's low-income seniors. OPHA's Mills Park Tower and OPRC's The Oaks provide a combined total of 274 housing units for seniors who are able to live independently. Residents pay a portion of the full rental cost (30% based on their adjusted income and Federal rent subsidies provided under HUD's Public or Multi-family Housing Programs cover the balance of the rent.Each building maintains its own waiting list and uses a local residency (live or work) preference when servicing applicants from their waiting lists.
