HEAD START & EARLY HEAD START | SOUTHERN SEVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT

An educational program provided to help prepare children for transition into kindergarten. Health screenings are provided as well as 2/3 of the nutrients a child needs each day. Transportation is available at most locations. The Early Head Start Program is specially designed to meet the unique developmental needs for infants and toddlers from birth to age 36 months. Center based locations are available in Pulaski and Alexander counties. Additionally, there is a home based option available in all counties, which offers a weekly visit from a teacher in the convenience of the family's home along with two special days a month for activities with other families.

Eligibility

Children (ages 0-5). Priority is given to families that: - Meet income guidelines. - Receive TANF or SSI. - Have children in foster care. - Have children with special needs. - Homeless. A limited number of over income slots are available.
