Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, Public Housing, Project Based Vouchers, and Rental Housing Support Programs provide rental assistance for very low-income persons in McHenry County. Currently, the Section 8 program is on a waitlist/lottery. The waitlist is closed to new applicants; no new applications can be submitted at this time. Project-based units are located in Woodstock and Lake in the Hills. Rental housing support units are located in Woodstock, McHenry, and Marengo.
