Homeowner Fund Assistance

Homeowner Fund Assistance (HAF) is a financial assistance program for IL homeowners who are behind on their mortgage payments, offered through the IL Housing Development Authority (IHDA). Up to $60,000 will be paid to the lender for the homeowner's primary mortgage or mobile home loan, subordinate mortgage (2nd and 3rd position), property taxes, property insurance and/or flood insurance, association fees (HOA, Condo, Co-Op), and Mobile Home Lot Rent.

Eligibility

Homeowners with household incomes less than 150% of the Area Median Income; Homeowners who own and occupy their property as their primary residence; Homeowners who are at least 30 days late on their mortgage, homeowner/condo association fees or property tax payments; Homeowners who have experienced a financial hardship directly related to COVID-19 that began, continued, or worsened after January 21, 2020
