After 22: College to Career - Anixter Center - Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled Services Residential Office

After 22 is a trailblazing initiative that links Chicagoans with developmental disabilities to educational and career opportunities. Now, young adults with developmental disabilities in Chicago will have access to the resources they need to succeed. After 22 puts the individual's needs and interests at the forefront: whether it's college courses, a job, or community involvement After 22 puts the supports in place for each student to forge their own path. Daley College and Anixter Center are creating customized educational plans focused on communication strategies and self-advocacy.

Anixter is a social services nonprofit located in Chicago, Illinois. The services aim to bring communities together and create a more inclusive Chicago. A lot of the work focuses on removing barriers so people can access the resources they need to thrive - regardless of their ability to pay. They serve people with disabilities, mental health needs, and people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing. The majority of the people they serve live at or below the poverty line.
