Domestic Violence Legal Services

The Domestic Violence Law Practice at NSLAC provides free domestic violence legal services to at-risk survivors. Domestic violence is any systematic behavior - whether physical, verbal, emotional, or sexual - used to gain power and control over another person. Their team uses a careful trauma-informed approach to mitigate the effects of domestic violence on survivors and their families.

An intake specialist will help determine if you meet our eligibility requirements and are facing an issue we can help with. If so, they will schedule you for a consultation with a domestic violence attorney.

Eligibility

Must live in north suburban Cook County or Lake County and have experienced domestic violence. Under the law, domestic violence includes physical or sexual harm as well as mental, emotional, and financial harm.
