The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for the issuance of official City of Chicago business licenses. However, the Office of the City Clerk does not have any additional role in the licensing process, such as application review or the acceptance of payment. Our Office can print and issue hard copies of licenses already approved by the City's Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection.
