El Mercadito's food access program serves anyone who lives in the city of Chicago. We do NOT require proof of income but you will be required to attest that you meet the official guidelines. El Mercadito, a partnership between La Casa Norte and Nourishing Hope, serves Chicago residents struggling with hunger. The partnership between the two organizations is an innovative collaboration created from the mutual belief that access to nutritious food is a basic human right.El Mercadito provides:- Nutritious groceries including fresh produce, dairy and meat.- Access to La Casa Norte's information and referral services.
