Application process

Individuals can come to the Domestic Violence Courthouse, Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:30am. If the clinic is open and accepting clients, they may be directed there for assistance. Contact (312) 325-9155 for additional information.

Ascend Justice's Order of Protection Clinic provides help filing for Orders of Protection on most days that the court is in session. Their staff and volunteers can discuss whether an Order of Protection may keep you safer, and help you prepare and file your case. We can also assist with preparing paperwork remotely and facilitate a remote hearing for an Emergency Order of Protection.An Order of Protection is a court order that tells the person who is abusing you to stop the abuse. It can also tell the person to stop contacting you, to leave a home that you share, to stay away from your children, or a number of other things that might help keep you safe.
