Provides state-mandated and County services relating to animal control and animal protection. Offers such as: Low cost Spay/Neuter Assistance to qualified pet owners; Low-Cost Pet Rabies Vaccinations through Lake County veterinarians (All dogs and cats 4 months and older in Lake County are required to be vaccinated against rabies and registered.); and Microchips.
Also offers a variety of other services, which include:
Emergency rescue of injured and sick stray animals
Interim shelter and care for stray and unwanted animals and transport to adoption centers
Maintain a lost and found pet database
Reuniting lost pets with owners
Investigations are done regarding nuisance complaints, allegations of animal cruelty or neglect, as well as reports of stray, roaming or injured animals; or dangerous, vicious or biting animals
Present educational programs to schools and community and civic groups
