Help with SNAP/Link (Food Stamps) and Medicaid Applications - Greater Chicago Food Depository - Main Office
GCFD helps individuals and families complete and submit their SNAP/Link (food stamps) and Medicaid applications. This program offers guidance on eligibility, assists with gathering documents, and explains the application process to ensure access to food and medical assistance. GCFD has a language line to support neighbors who speak languages other than English and Spanish.

Eligibility
SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid eligibility are determined during GCFD's screening process. SNAP and WIC are open to those who meet income and residency requirements. For SNAP, households without disabled or elderly persons (age 60 or older) must have a maximum monthly income between 130% to 165% FPL. Households with disabled or elderly persons must have a maximum monthly income of 200% FPL, with additional consideration for household size, population, and expenses. Emergency SNAP benefits have additional income eligibility requirements. For Medicaid eligibility, generally, adults with income up to 138% of the federal poverty level are eligible for Medicaid. Children and pregnant women have higher income limits.For WIC, household income must be at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. Families already participating in Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF are automatically eligible.
