Social Security Administration Medicare is the country's health insurance program for people age 65 or older. Participants sign up for Medicare Part A and Part B through Social Security, so they can make both retirement and Medicare choices and withhold any premiums from their benefit payments.Medicare participants may also apply for The Extra Help program which helps people with limited income and resources lower or cut Part D costs. Medicare Part D provides drug coverage. The Extra Help program helps with the cost of your prescription drugs, like deductibles and copays.
