Emergency Assistance is for those with income who are facing a life-threatening event: - Utility Disconnect for Water or Power (Must be in applicant's name). - Eviction Notice: recently issued, must be a registered rental. - Other Emergency: proof of a work-related expense to get/maintain employment (like steel-toed boots or welding helmet). - Catastrophic: In event of a fire where there is no renter's or homeowner's insurance and premises are no longer habitable. For security deposit and/or 1 month's rent.

Eligibility
- Adults must have income (more than TANF income guidelines and less than $2500). All income in household is included. - Adults will always be considered for General Assistance first. - Cannot received EA and GA in same month. - Adults with minor children in home must apply for TANF first and have pending application or denial. - Applicants who are presumptively eligible for another government program (including SNAP/Medicaid/TANF) must show proof of application to that program before emergency assistance will be granted. - Must not be receiving TANF or SSI. - Must provide proof that grant amount ($500) is enough to alleviate the situation or proof that the applicant has pre-paid the remainder. - Assistance must alleviate situation for at least 30 days. - Must be resident of area served.
