Open to taxpayers with low and moderate income, with special attention to those 50 and older

Required documents

Photo ID for everyone on the tax return, copy of last year's return, Social Security cards for everyone in household, income statements and other official documentation for household members that apply to the current tax year

By appointment only, Tue and Thu 9:30 am-1:45 pm, Feb 10-Apr 9, 2026 In-person appointment days: Senior Services of Central Illinois (701 West Mason St, Springfield, IL) Jan 27-Jan 29, 2026, from 9 am-12 pm Union Baptist Church on Feb 1 from 12 pm-2 pm Beginning Feb 1, appointments can be made online, by calling AARP IVR, or in person at Union Baptist Church beginning Feb 10, during open hours when tax staff is present All clients must obtain and complete a tax preparation packet prior to their scheduled appointment Packets are available at Union Baptist Church just inside the entrance during open hours beginning Feb 8 Site will be closed Mar 17 due to Primary Elections Do not call the church for an appointment
