Caregiver must be 18 years or older and one of the following: - A veteran's spouse, child, parent, stepfamily, or extended family member, OR - Someone who lives with an eligible veteran full time, OR - Someone who will live with an eligible veteran full time if designated by a family member For General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) the veteran must: - Need assistance with one or more activities of daily living, OR - Need supervision or protection based on symptoms or residuals of neurological impairment, other impairment or injury For Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC), the veteran must meet the following criteria: 1. Sustained or aggravated a serious injury (or illness) in the line of duty in the active military, naval or air service during any service era 2. Have a single or combined service-connected disability rating by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) of 70% or more, AND 3. Be in need of personal care services (requiring in-person personal care services) for a minimum of six continuous months based on any one of the following: -An inability to perform an activity of daily living -A need for supervision/protection based on symptoms or residuals of neurological, other impairment or injury -A need for regular or extensive instruction or supervision without which the ability of the Veteran to function in daily life, would be seriously impaired

Provides supportive services for family caregivers of an enrolled veteran. Offers the following two programs based on level of care (see eligibility guidelines below): Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) - Individual support related to the care of the veteran - Skills training on caregiving for a veteran's unique needs - Respite care - Peer support mentoring - Training and support through in-person, online, and telehealth sessions - Referrals to available resources Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) - Provides all services listed above and the following: - Mental health support - Virtual Psychotherapy for Caregivers Program (VPPC) - CHAMPVA (if uninsured) - Monthly stipend - Beneficiary travel
