Offers a summary of assistance programs through Troy Township:

  • General Assistance provides monthly payments to help residents meet basic needs.
  • Emergency Assistance is available to qualified individuals and families facing emergencies that are work related or life threatening such as eviction, utility disconnection, and transportation.
  • Salvation Army Service Extension Program funds are available once in any 12-month period for residents which also may be helped using Salvation Army welfare guidelines.
  • Nicor Sharing is a one-time annual grant given, with no requirement to be paid back to qualified residential customers to make payments to Nicor Gas on resident's behalf.
