Congregate meals are provided to qualified individuals. The meal must meet 1/3 of the daily recommended dietary needs of adults 60 and over, including the requirements of the Older Americans Act and state and local laws.

The Golden Diners Program offers older adults (60 years of age and older) and their spouses of any age, an opportunity to have a healthy, nutritious meal (typlically lunch) each day while enjoying the company of friends.Breakfast is served only at: South Chicago Senior Satellite, Southeast Atlas Regional Center, Northwest Copernicus Regional Center & West Town Senior Satellite.
Village of Arlington Heights Senior Center provides a nutritionally balanced meal to facilitate social interaction for a specific population. There is a suggested donation of $4 for seniors and $7 for all other diners.

Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites

Congregate Meals - All participating senior centers participate in both congregate meal and home delivered meal programs to help ensure the basic wellness of seniors. For those lacking a proper nutritious meal or unable to obtain meals by normal means, call the local senior center for assistance.

Grand Island Senior Dine - Voucher based dining experience at the local Hy-Vee Cafe for those seniors who may not be able to get to the senior center often. To apply, call the Grand Island Midland Area Agency on Aging Office at (402) 463-4565 for more information and to set up an appointment to receive vouchers.

-- Participants must be sixty (60) years of age or older.

-- Those receiving home delivered meals are not eligible for this program.

-- Voucher may be used for dine in only at Hy-Vee Caf (Hickory House).

-- Limited to one meal per day through the Older Americans Act. -- The one daily meal must be at one of the three Older American Act meal sites - Grand Generation Senior Center, Hy-Vee, or Regency Apartments.

-- Participants are limited to receive 10 voucher meal cards per month.

Congregate meals are prepared at a central kitchen and delivered to the Lincoln and Lancaster County senior centers. Seniors receive a balanced meal that meets nutritional requirements and offers socialization opportunities.

Provides equitable services, support, social connection and education to LGBT+ older adults in order to help them maintain dignity, health and independent living.

OutSAFE LGBTQ+ Older Adult Violence Prevention training offers education on cultural humility, statistics, and how to identify abuse, as well as resources on how to report abuse and support victims afterwards. Email [email protected] to schedule training.

Provides a weekly congregate meal program open to LGBT seniors and allies. Lunches are served 11:30 am every Thursday at AgeLinc and will include time for education and socialization. Call to find out more information or to reserve a lunch. Applications must be received by the Tuesday prior to each Thursday and reservations are required.
