SALVATION ARMY PATHWAY FORWARD SHELTER FOR MEN | SALVATION ARMY OF DECATUR AND MACON COUNTY

Provides housing, meals, clothing, case management, life skills, health care and mental health care referrals, substance abuse treatment referrals, financial and job skills coaching, socialization and recreation opportunities to assist men experiencing homelessness to overcome the barriers that keep them from becoming housed and self-sufficient.

Cold Weather Shelter "Cold Cots": During the winter months when the temperatures are severely cold, the cold weather shelter opens expanding the 30 bed men's shelter to handle an additional 20 men providing them with a cot, a meal, and access to showers while space is available.

EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR FAMILIES | CHAMPAIGN COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION

Provides short-term emergency shelter for homeless families with children in Champaign County. During shelter stay, ESF provides case management support to assist families in identifying permanent housing and other community resources they may need.

HOMELESS PROGRAM | STOPPING WOMAN ABUSE NOW (SWAN)

Provides for women and families experiencing homelessness dormitory-styled rooms with bunk beds, so they are intended to be a shared space, a common dining area, living room, and outdoor areas for recreation. A full-time cook is on staff to provide two hot meals each day, and breakfast is a serve-yourself cold meal. Clients can stay at our shelter for up to 45 days.

MEN'S SAFE HOUSE | CANAAN BAPTIST CHURCH URBANA

Provides a substance abuse free environment for men suffering from drugs or alcohol addiction. Services include a 12-month residential program, while in the program, the resident will follow a disciplined regimen. Residents attend chapel, prayer service, classroom sessions, work projects and study hall each day. Basic services include food, clothing, personal hygiene supplies, medical exam, health services, and legal services.

BETHANY VILLAGE | BETHANY VILLAGE

Has 12 efficiency, 4 one-bedroom, and 3 two-bedroom units of transitional and permanent supportive housing. Provides food, shelter, clothing, supportive services, and assistance in finding employment. Prioritizes families with children. After two months of residency, applicants who demonstrate effective use of services may be approved for transitional housing up to one year.

MAIN SHELTER - TRANSITIONAL HOUSING | GOD'S SHELTER OF LOVE

Open to women and their children who show commitment to being substance-free and investing in themselves long-term are eligible to stay at the 24 -hour shelter.

While at the shelter there is assistance to find employment offering resume assistance, getting signed up for long-term assistance, childcare/parenting assistance from local partners, mental health evaluation, education, and housing within 90- 120 days. The goal is for them to be set up with safe, affordable housing and the support structure needed to begin a successful step forward in their journey.

Youth in Transition - The Harbour - Main Office

The Harbour's Youth in Transition program provides up to 18 months of stable housing and supportive services through two housing models to meet youth where they are and maximize opportunities for success. Youth in Transition's supervised group living provides housing for girls ages 17-21 experiencing homelessness while they finish high school, work 10-20 hours per week (banking 65% of their earnings), and make the transition to self-sufficiency.

Safe Passage is the domestic violence and sexual assault agency for DeKalb County. Services provided include:

-- 24/7 crisis hotline and text line.

-- 25 bed Emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children.

-- Transitional housing for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

-- Individual, group and family counseling for adults and children experiencing domestic and sexual assault or abuse.

EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR WOMEN WITH CHILDREN | CONTACT MINISTRIES

Emergency Shelter Services - Provides emergency/crisis short-term shelter for women with children of any age, including male children (ages 13-17). The shelter provides a safe place to sleep, evening meal, laundry, and shower facilities. The length of stay is 30 days. Residents are encouraged to meet with the Emergency Shelter Lead Supervisor for long term stability plan


Transitional Shelter Services for Women with Children - Provides immediate relief to women, 18 and over, with children (male children must be 12 years of age or younger). In addition, provides life's basic needs - food, clothing, personal care items, laundry facilities, transportation, and telephones to make appointments. Supportive services provided include life skill classes, employment assistance, budgeting, family literacy, parenting classes, tutoring, and case management with a goal of finding and maintaining permanent housing.
