Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America helps thousands achieve the dream of lasting homeownership every year. Participants can become eligible for a below-market rate and an affordable mortgage through their financial counseling programs.
The Home Buying Program consists of 8 hours of education and counseling to meet HUD's requirements. The program is designed to offer individual counseling and group education where clients will learn about the home buying process, credit, money management, the different mortgage products, and down payment assistance programs. After completion of the program, a certificate will be provided.
Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity offers a five-class series to learn the ins and outs of buying, budgeting for, and maintaining a home. This program is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to enroll in the series.
Agents of Hope Training and Information Center's Housing Program helps families and individuals find safe, affordable homes. Staff can assist with completing applications for rental assistance. They do not provide direct financial assistance.

Free virtual workshops for homebuyers. Workshop is 2 days and both sessions must be attended.
Northwest Center offers free group workshops and individual counseling to explore the home-buying process, build your credit, and close the deal.The in-person First-Time Homebuyer Workshop is a two-part group course that outlines the entire buying process, from building your credit to getting that first set of keys. The online class costs $100.

As a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, CASL specializes in providing housing and financial services, and resources to teens and adults with multiple barriers-including new immigrants, individuals with low English language proficiency, and lack of resources. Greater Southwest Development Corporation offers housing counseling, financial coaching, and income support screening services free of charge. HUD-certified Residential Counselors are here to help with foreclosure prevention, and rental assistance, and to prevent the displacement of residents. GSDC's Residential Assistance Center is Southwest Chicago's only no-cost, one-stop shop for comprehensive housing and financial support services.

North West Housing Partnership has partnered with FRAMEWORK to provide an advantageous option for homebuyers to receive homebuyer education online. FRAMEWORK is a HUD-approved online education platform. The fee for the online course is $75.00. NWHP also provides one-on-one in person free counseling.

South Suburban Housing Center's HUD-Approved Pre- and Post-Purchase counseling is one-on-one and tailored to help individuals reach their own unique homeownership goals.
LCDC offers detailed real estate listings, financial assistance programs, and guidance to empower your homeownership journey.
Pre-Purchase Home Buying Workshop: Provides both pre and post counseling and trainings and conducts Fair Housing outreach activities.
