The Clerk of Court is the custodian of all court records in law, equity, probate, criminal, juvenile, adoptions, small claims, and traffic. In conjunction to other county offices, the Clerk of Court also draws grand jurors, petit jurors, and talismen. The Clerk of Court also provides assistance and necessary forms needed to file a petition with the court for a legal name change.

Provides a resource for County residents who choose to represent themselves in court or have questions on divorce, child custody, paternity, grandparent rights. Information on legal fees and costs for hiring attorneys is also available.

A "small claims" court within the Circuit Court where individuals present their cases ($3000 or less) to a judge, with or without a lawyer; resolves disputes quickly.
Has jurisdiction over children who need protective services and those accused of violating state and municipal law; also, hears adoption cases and domestic relations.
Cases are heard on a first-come, first-served basis and a sign-up sheet is placed in the lobby outside the courtroom.
Juvenile Court office for Newton and McDonald counties; the office has jurisdiction over children needing protective services and those accused of violating state or municipal law; also hears adoption cases.
Has exclusive, original jurisdiction in proceedings where a person 17 years of age is without proper care, custody or support; or prior to attaining the age of 17 has violated a state law or municipal ordinance, except where the offense is a non-felony traffic violation and the person is 15 1/2 years of age. Provides probation services and other services deemed in best interest of juvenile. Cases also processed for termination of parental rights.
Responsible for St. Louis County probate, administers estates of deceased persons, minors, etc.

Offers a specialized criminal court docket for veterans that have been identified as having a substance abuse dependency and/or a mental illness and have been charged with a felony criminal offense. The veteran participates in an 18 month out-patient treatment program that focuses on the identified needs of the veteran.

Intense Probation Services: Intense probation services are provided to juveniles who have been determined by the Juvenile Court, to require intense supervision before being permitted to return to their home and community.

Diversion program for teens who are first time misdemeanor offenders. The program focuses on youth development and accountability. Defendants are judged by their peers. Teens are involved in the court process as jurors, bailiffs, clerks, and attorneys.
A diversion and accountability program directed toward juvenile misdemeanor offenders who have admitted guilt or participation in an offense. Peer Court involves a teen jury system, which brings together juvenile offenders, their peers, and community agencies to determine consequences for the offenses. The peer court holds hearings to determine the circumstances of the offense and develop contracts with the offenders, which include restitution, apologies, community service work, and educational programs.
Drug court that serves non-violent offenders in Crawford County with substance use addictions. Program completion aims to lessen/reduce offender's charges, penalties, or sentences.
