Schaumburg Township's Veteran Services Officer, Shynae Murphy, is available for walk-in service at the Township of Schaumburg building. Township Veteran service is open to all veterans and their families to assist in understanding and applying for qualified benefits. VSO Shynae Murphy can also assist veterans with copies of discharge papers, providing information on disability compensation, burial benefits, and allowances, and much more. If she cannot help, a referral can be made to a source that may assist the veteran.

Hanover Township's Department of Human Services offers programs and services to improve the quality of life of Hanover Township residents experiencing hardships. The department's primary function is to provide financial assistance to qualifying residents through General and Emergency Assistance. The Human Services Department also oversees the Township's Food Pantry, which is available to the Township residents six days per week. Department staff are also Accredited Veterans Service Officers who are able to assist Township Veterans and their families in applying for qualifying benefits from state and federal agencies. Employment Services, such as offering assistance for interview skills, resume writing, and job searches, are also available through the department.
