Labor and Employment Law
FLAP staff and Community Navigators-Independent Contractors seek to educate low-income workers about their rights in the workplace. Our organization builds upon relationships with churches, consulates, and organizations in the community to deliver "Know your Rights" presentations to groups of low-income workers. FLAP staff and Community Navigators-Independent Contractors travel to different populations in Illinois to inform low-income workers about their rights and the legal resources available to them. Through its own community outreach and education work and through its relationship with other community groups in the area, FLAP builds a relationship of trust with low-income immigrant, migrant, and seasonal low-income workers.
MALDEF has defended the rights of the Latino community in the U.S. MALDEF works in litigation, public policy advocacy, and community education in the areas of: Education, Employment, Immigrant Rights, and Political Access.They do NOT do any immigration representation (i.e. deportation; asylum; adjustment of status)

Ascend Justice offers free help with legal problems commonly experienced by survivors, such as: need reasonable accommodations at work, break their leases or change their locks, screening and referrals for bankruptcy along with crime victims' compensation.
