Provides instruction to students who are interested in improving their basic skills in math and reading, attaining a GED, or developing their English language abilities. Also offers GED classes at the Decatur Public Library through the Richland Workforce Consortium partnership.

Adult Education Classes: Provides adult basic skills classes for adults who haven't attended school, or had interrupted schooling and are needing improvement in education.
Supports several grant-funded opportunities for instruction to help adults improve their life skills throughout the 15-county area. Includes Basic Skills/GED and English as a Second Language classes. There also are many volunteer opportunities available.

Offers GED, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Academic ESL (AEP) programs, as well as basic skill instruction in reading, writing, and math. GED Program: Provides instruction in language arts, science, social studies, and math to prepare students to complete their State of Illinois High School Diploma (GED), and to assist the interested students in preparing for enrollment in college courses, training programs, and employment. ESL Program: Can help students improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Classes range from providing basic language skills for beginners to helping advanced students prepare for high education, training, or a career. Academic ESL Program: Program is designed to assist advanced-level, non-native English speakers to prepare for and transition to further education at RCV, career readiness, and success skills are included. AEP coursework covers: - Grammar. - Writing. - Reading strategies. - Listening and speaking. - Vocabulary development. - Basic math and financial literacy.

Tutoring Services
Adult education and family literacy classes are non-credit and provide a range of basic skill instruction, English as a Second Language, GED preparation, and in some cases, high school credit. Classes are informal and instruction is individualized. Classes may be held in a variety of facilities, including churches, industrial plants, schools, libraries, and housing projects.

Offers a program to improve basic reading, writing, math, life skills, and employability. The class English as a Second Language is also offered. Volunteer tutoring available.

Instruction in English, math, reading skills, GED preparation and citizenship test preparation. Learning occurs in classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one sessions with volunteer tutors.
The Adult Learners Programs and Services (ALPS) offers one-on-one and small group tutoring in reading, writing, math, English as a Second Language (ESL), GED preparation, and computer skills.
Help neighbors increase employment success and economic self-sufficiency through adult education, language classes, resume writing and interview skills, job placement, and financial workshops.

Financial Literacy Training
Association House of Chicago offers a new path to 16 to 21-year-olds left behind by traditional public schools. Participants receive the personalized support they need to earn a high school diploma. Their team of certified teachers and mentors break down the barriers that keep students from graduating, helping each student build a better future. They also offer free diapers to currently enrolled students in need.
Pathways in Education (PIE) - Brighton Park provides secondary-level classes in several formats, including small group instruction, independent study, and online learning in all levels of mathematics, English language arts, and science. The school operates year-round so that students can enroll at any time. The school also offers college application assistance and visiting assistance to its students.
One-on-one tutoring and group classes are offered for those studying for US citizenship. Adult students are matched with individual tutors for one-on-one tutoring in English as a Second Language, US citizenship exam preparation, basic math, reading or computer skills. One-on-one tutoring and group classes are offered for those studying for US citizenship.

Provides Adult Basic Education (ABE): Adult Basic Education classes offer instruction in math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills. These skills are needed for success in the workplace, the community and for education. Adults, 16 years of age and older who meet certain requirements, are eligible to enroll.

Offers Adult Secondary Education (ASE): Preparation classes for the General Educational Development (GED) exam or other accepted High School Equivalency (HSE) exams are available for adults, 16 years of age and older, who have not graduated from high school. Also offered in Spanish.

Adult basic education, including literacy, job seeking, and life skills education.

Citizenship preparation.

Tutors available in various locations in the Panhandle.

Single parent / displaced homemaker program provides career counseling, dependent care, non-traditional training, skills training, technology training, books and tuition, personal counseling, support groups, and transportation. Contact a student services advisor for information.

Veterans Upward Bound programs offer intensive basic skills development and short-term remedial courses for military veterans to help them successfully transition to post-secondary education.

D & H Literacy and Counseling Center offers educational programming that emphasizes basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Chicago Public Schools - George H Corliss High School provides instruction on fundamental learning skills (ex. reading, writing, and mathematics) to adults with interrupted or limited education or provides instruction to adults in a field of interest outside the formal education system. This program is open to the public.
