Association House of Chicago offers a new path to 16 to 21-year-olds left behind by traditional public schools. Participants receive the personalized support they need to earn a high school diploma. Their team of certified teachers and mentors break down the barriers that keep students from graduating, helping each student build a better future. They also offer free diapers to currently enrolled students in need.
The Michael Barlow Center offers literacy tutoring, high school preparation, and employment preparation training. The small-class format is designed to offer individual assistance for the adult student who has been away from school for some time or has difficulty learning in a large classroom environment. The focus is on basic math skills and reading/writing skills.The Michael Barlow Center also offers two skills training programs in the construction and culinary fields. These programs equip participants with the skills needed to enter the field, as well as industry knowledge and credentials to work their way up to well-paying positions.
National Able Network provides educational courses for adults who want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math, listening, and speaking.
Pathways in Education (PIE) - Brighton Park provides secondary-level classes in several formats, including small group instruction, independent study, and online learning in all levels of mathematics, English language arts, and science. The school operates year-round so that students can enroll at any time. The school also offers college application assistance and visiting assistance to its students.

Instituto del Progreso Latino's English, Citizenship and Adult Education courses help students build the foundation to further their education. Adult classes are offered on various schedules to accommodate students' needs and provide on-site child care while parents are in class. Students are placed in ESL, Citizenship, or Adult Education courses specific to their skill level to prepare them to move on to contextualized career courses.
The Adult Basic Education staff and instructors provide educational opportunities for adults to help them succeed at work, home, and in their communities by improving literacy skills through a range of services that address basic educational needs. Classes are currently being scheduled remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. ABE classes include: - Reading. - Math. - Writing. - Science. - Social studies. - Computer skills.
- Adult Basic Education (ABE): Adult Basic Education classes offer instruction in math, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing skills. These skills are needed for success in the workplace, the community and for education. Adults, 16 years of age and older who meet certain requirements, are eligible to enroll. - Adult Secondary Education (ASE): Preparation classes for the General Educational Development (GED) exam or other accepted High School Equivalency (HSE) exams are available for adults, 16 years of age and older, who have not graduated from high school.
